Wild Urubamba

The name of the Urubamba River comes from Quechua Urupampa which means “Plateau of the spiders”. He was known in the time of the Incas as Willkamayu and it was sacred to them. It is one of the main Peruvian rivers and is part of the Amazon basin.

El nombre del Rio Urubamba proviene de quechua Urupampa que significa “meseta de las arañas”. Fue conocido en tiempo de los Incas como Willkamayu y fue sagrado para ellos. Es uno de los principales ríos peruanos y forma parte de la cuenca del Amazonas.
